Therapy Services
The initial focus of individual therapy is determined by what is most important to you. As our work progresses, other important themes and needs often emerge. Therapy sessions are open and thoughtful, and focused on helping you find increased clarity and comfort in your daily life.
The initial focus of couples therapy is to assess the foundation of your relationship. In acknowledging both the strengths and the vulnerabilities, we will be able to develop a structured pathway towards increased warmth, friendship, and intimacy.
Having a safe and informed space to talk through the unique demands of parenting special needs children across the lifespan can be difficult to find. Our sessions will focus on your experiences and your expectations of parenthood.
Guardianship Evaluations
A guardianship evaluation is typically needed when there are concerns that an individual is not able make safe or informed decisions about their personal care or finances. The guardianship evaluation is often part of a legal case in probate or family court.
When a child turns 18, parents no longer have automatic legal authority to make decisions. Parents may pursue guardianship to continue helping with medical decisions, financial management, and education and housing choices.
A guardianship evaluation is a two-step process, that includes in-office interviews with the individual and the individual's primary caregiver(s), and an in-depth record review. A completed report for the court is provided within one week of the evaluation.
Adult Assessments
Many people aren’t diagnosed with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder or Autism Spectrum Disorder until adulthood. Often, childhood and adolescent symptoms were missed or misunderstood. Diagnoses in adulthood can open new opportunities for self-acceptance and support.
An assessment can clarify whether challenges like chronic distraction, poor time management, difficulty finishing tasks, sensory sensitivity, social fatigue, difficulty reading cues, or rigid routines are actually due to ADHD or ASD rather than stress, anxiety, or personality.
An adult assessment is a two-step process, that includes either an in-person or virtual structured clinical interview and the completion of standardized questionnaires. Formal documentation provided within one week of the assessment.
